About North Alabama Barndominiums

North Alabama Barndominiums is operated by Compass Camper LLC, an Oregon-registered marketing company doing business as Compass Lead Group. We are not a barndominium and post-frame home building contractor and do not perform barndominium and post-frame home building work.

We operate this website to connect homeowners across 12 North Alabama counties with licensed, insured barndominium and post-frame home building contractors. When you submit a request, your information is forwarded to a licensed local builder who can look at your lot and your plan.

What a builder has to hold before a request goes to them

• A current Alabama home builder license, which state law requires for any residential job over $10,000.
• Current general liability insurance.
• A written, itemized estimate before any work begins.
• A written contract with a change-order process.

What this site is for

Two things. First, the county-by-county record of what each of the 12 counties actually requires before a barndominium goes up, read at each county's own site with the date shown, because nobody else publishes that. Second, an introduction to a licensed local builder when you are ready for one.

We publish no testimonials, no team photos, no job counts and no awards, because we have none to publish honestly. We publish sources and dates instead.
